  Bought a full set of tyres from National tyres Leyland two days ago. On leaving they advised to take it easy for a while to bed the tyres in. The weather that night and the following day was torrential rain so speeds well down even on the M6 motorway going north to Lancaster but the car felt wrong as though it was skating on ice. Yesterday was a dry evening and heading north towards Lancaster just after Junction 32 the car went sideways and nearly left the motorway. After slowing right down to 50 and heart rate back to normal I called in at my local garage and checked the tyres. Car should have 30psi front 33psi rear. It had 48psi all round, the tyres rather than low profile looked like balloons. Reset pressures and now ok. Called in today at National Tyres and they said the pressure expands as you use them. Sorry but that is Bull£$%&^ the tyres would have to have a temperature increase of 230 degrees, its a Mercedes not a Bugatti Veyron. The assistant manager even after checking the tyres with their gauge which verified they were now set correctly, still stuck to his story. As a customer (or victim) all he had to do was say sorry we made a mistake and I would have accepted that, we all make mistakes. If a younger inexperienced driver had been driving the car it would almost certainly have resulted in a very serious accident possibly fatal and the police would have found the issue of the over inflated tyres and I'm sure someone would have had to give a much more plausible explanation to them in court. A very dismal and dangerous poor show by this branch and my advice is go elsewhere, you have that choice. There are over 500 people where I work and the old saying one person tells 11 others, that's potentially 5000+ loss of customers for this branch. Think about that? The sales service was fantastic, manager dropped me off at work and picked me up again when finished, a great pity the overall experience with National Tyres was all spoilt in this way.
